Winchester Films Boss Resigns
Ananova have reported that the boss of Winchester Films, Gary Smith, has resigned. On March 31st, the company posted pre-tax losses of £11.2 million, compared to losses of £8.3 million previously; although bad losses were predicted. Mr Smith said: "I am now looking forward to pursuing a wider range of interests, both inside and outside the film industry."
What does all this mean for Red Dwarf: The Movie, which Winchester is heavily involved in? Probably nothing, in all honesty - the company has been building up it's feature films business and cut it's activities in the children's TV market, and in June they said they are making a point of focusing on developing films jointly with partners. So, there shouldn't be any need to worry. Still, we'll keep an eye on things...
