Chris Barrie Q&A

SFX Event logo. No amusing comment. Sorry.Oooh, lovely. When we previously reported on the upcoming SFX Event (coming this weekend, June 4th - 6th), we told you about the Readers Awards he's presenting on the Sunday. However, the SFX website now says that "Chris will now be appearing for a question and answer session on Saturday". This is wonderful, marvelous, incredible news. All those questions. Bliss. So, here are some of our suggestions:

It only remains for me to beg for a report, however short, if any of you lot are going; I'm afraid I'll be busy doing an IMPORTANT INTERVIEW for this site. And I've even conned my girlfriend into transcribing it. The things people do for cock, eh?

Oh, and tell me if you hate the new info box on the front page. It took me five minutes, so you'd better fucking like it.

For cock? I was under the impression I was doing it for something a lot more useful...

May I suggest: ?

Good call.

It's good, but it's somewhat disconcerting to see the title of a certain science-fiction glossy magazine emblazoned over the front page in big letters; what with this site's well-documented distaste for said certain science-fiction glossy magazine...

Excellent, the interview. And I won't be going to the SFX event, for obvious reasons.

The stupid thing is, I actually quite like SFX. It's the only magazine I bother to buy every month.

It doesn't stop them being WRONG on practically everything they print about Red Dwarf, though...

Fair enough. I used to read SFX a lot back when it started (though it's always pissed me off the way they cover the bottom half of the letter F, usually with a picture of Sarah Michelle Gellar or someone, so your mates think you have magazines called SEX lying around your room), but these days when I flick through it there never seems enough to grab my attention and make it worth shelling out on. I'll pick it up if they've got, say, a Neil Gaiman interview or something, but there's too much in the world of SF that doesn't really interest me; so normally once I've read the reviews in WH Smiths that's enough.

There's not enough SF shows that do anything for me anymore so I stopped buying many moons ago.

And the Sarah Michelle Gellar pics? Well, she was one tasty lady...then she became one pasty lady and I lost interest.

So: did anyone here go? What did Chris have to say for himself?

Also: this amuses me.
