Filthy DVD Release Delayed
Released: 10/08/2004. A date which is not the 8th of March or the 8th of June, I would point out. Still, at least it looks like it's coming out, contrary to rumours that it wouldn't. And two months extra wait is worth it for one of the best sitcoms ever written. Mind you, it would be nice if companies didn't wait until the date had passed before giving you updated information. Ahem.
Two questions, then:
a) Why the fuck is/was Filthy so ludicrously underrated?
b) Was Believe Nothing any good at all?
Thanks to Filthy lady ribbit for the news. Accessing a website is a pretty big step for her; I'm so proud. She'll be using a wordprocessor next.

Believe Nothing was absolute shit, but it's still nice that they at least tried.

I saw an episode. I loved the atmosphere of the whole thing; and it nice that it was something different and fairly ambitious.
But I don't recall it being that funny, which is a bad thing for a sitcom.

Red Dwarf link to Believe Nothing:
Don Warrington was in several episodes playing some kind of chancellor bloke.

Filthy was probably so underrated because the Young Ones is so vastly over rated
*cue tirade of abuse*

Not at all, Matt: I think that's a very good point, although that possibly applies more in hindsight than at the time. Have you read my article about it?

He won't have done - it doesn't have lift-up flaps.

The Young Ones "over-rated"? By who, exactly?
Posted by Darrell Jones at June 10, 2004 07:58 PM
Its just my opinion TYO's is over rated.
As for Ians quality cuss, hmm, it would have been had he not stolen it

You can only call something 'over-rated' if it maintains a sense of ubiquity, is being heralded with praise on a super-frequent basis, and is regarded as an untouchable giant by the press and public alike.
I think The Young Ones is an amazing programme, but none of the above applies to it, sadly. Its last terrestrial repeat several years ago was butchered to fuck, its DVD releases are insulting (and seemingly only about four people cared enough to even acknowledge the awfulness of them), and its fanbase is virtually non-existent these days.
What you meant to say was that *you didn't like it*. You use the word 'over-rated' all the time with seemingly no concept of what it actually means.

Hmmm, well, whenever I see summat about it on TV or papers itws praised as being this amazing piece of written TV.
Fair enough if you think its an amazing programme, live with the fact I think its shite and move on. I already have.

Sorry if my above post is abit offensive, it was 5:45 in the morning and I'd just had 3 hours sleep!
I just meant I've always heard great things about the young ones, I even bought the videos a few years ago on alot of high recommendations only to really see it was crap
