Robert Llewellyn In MirrorMask

A new fantasy film, written by Neil Gaiman? Surely that should be the angle for this story? Tish, pshaw, nonsense - it's the fact that Robert Llewellyn's in it that is the real news. You fools.

No release date has been set, as far as I'm aware, although it's likely to be later this year; here's the IMDB entry for the film. No word on which character Robert is yet. Synopsis:

MirrorMask centers on Helena, a 15 year old girl in a family of circus entertainers, who often wishes she could run off and join real life. After a fight with her parents about her future plans, her mother falls quite ill and Helena is convinced that it is all her fault. On the eve of her mother's major surgery, she dreams that she is in a strange world with two opposing queens, bizarre creatures, and masked inhabitants. All is not well in this new world - the white queen has fallen ill and can only be restored by the MirrorMask, and it's up to Helena to find it. But as her adventures continue, she begins to wonder whether she's in a dream, or something far more sinister.

Robert has said the following about it on his guestbook. Which I can't link to. Sigh:

"Mirrormask is an animated film which used actors to voice and define the facial movements, so I was recorded audio and visually doing a few very short speeches, had to keep my head very still (good old Llew.TV training handy there) and still express things. It's hard to know what it's about as I only saw the bit I was in, but it sounds pretty good."

He's slightly misleading here; the film is actually combined live-action/CG; here are a few interesting links. Current progress on the film, from Gaiman himself, is:

"Well, Mirrormask, the movie I'm doing with Dave McKean is progressing very well. Principal shooting has been completed and we are in post-production. Of course, with a project like Mirrormask, post-production is about 80% of the job."
