Plot Inconsistencies Project
Plot Inconsistencies Project v7.1 (Part One, Part Two)
This document was written and maintained by Damone & Annette. As for what it is:
The Plot Inconsistencies Project (PIP) is an attempt to compile, record, and resolve all of the various plot inconsistencies for the British television show, "Red Dwarf." The writers, Grant Naylor, are famous for changing established facts when it suited their plots. Through fan efforts, we are attempting to go through all the available episodes and make this list of plot holes and problems, and then fix them ourselves...the project has expanded to also include technical and production errors from the series.
The PIP Addendum
Unfortunately, the PIP is now frozen at version 7.1 - Damone and Annette are no longer maintaining it, and as far as I can tell do not wish anyone else to either. (Which is fair enough - they wrote the damn thing, and have allowed it to be posted anywhere - it's only right that they should have the say in what happens to it). This means that the Series VII information is very incomplete, Series VIII isn't covered at all - and that new problems spotted with earlier series (which is a certainty, due to the DVD releases) cannot be added. And yet starting again would involve a huge amount of duplication of extremely good work, which would be completely pointless.
The solution? The PIP Addendum, which will be a document that covers any Plot Inconsistencies or Production Errors that are not contained within the original PIP. So, if you have any you wish to contribute, send them to john@ganymede-titan.info - but please check that your contribution is not in the original PIP!
We hope to make the first release of the PIP Addendum around June.
With thanks to Mr Flibble for his help on filling us in on the status of the original PIP.
