Ian's Newsround - 20/09/03

Sorry I'm late. It's Karl Eisenhauer's fault. Anyway - props. The latest additions to The Prop Store Of London include the excellent jigsaw from Thanks for the Memory (349), Kryten's Sensational Reverse Brother outfit from Backwards (a mere 1,169 - one pound for each Red Dwarf crew member, c. Series IV), a poster featurring the aforementioned novelty act (309), a backpack worn by Kryten in Marooned (385), a table golf manual from Timeslides (175), the Simulant's knife from Justice (195) and, excellently, Holly's fishing hat from Dimension Jump (175). It's all brilliant, exciting stuff. Expensive, admittedly. But we can dream, can't we?

This week, the official site has updated with a new article in the fantastic Down Time section - Roleplaying Report. Written by RPG-supremo Todd Downing, the report focuses on the recent Dragonflight 2003 - a big gaming convention, where in the excellent Red Dwarf: The Roleplaying Game was showcased. It apparantly went down very well, with many punters suitably impressed with the conversion from sit-com to RPG. Now, do you think that this will persuade mainstream book shops in the UK to sell the bloody thing?

Bit of scheduling news. Series V starts on Australia's UK.TV on Saturday 27th September, whereas our very own UK Gold will show Series II from this date. However, there will be no Series III repeat on BBC TWO on the 25th. Fuckers. Makes you a little jealous of Canada, who are getting Red Dwarf every night of the week on BBC Kids. Even though Red Dwarf is not even remotely a kids' show.

In other news, I now recognise Steve Clark as somebody who I briefly chatted to on Friday night at Dimension Jump. Hello! Don't forget to watch him on Mastermind on the 29th. Also, the front page of the official site has been updated since Friday. The DVD Details section now displays the correct date. Well done.

UPDATE: It has been noted that yesterday was in fact the 21st. Not the 20th. Good old sleep deprivation.
