Well, it's not that academic. I am, after all, doing a Media-type course. But still, here it is. The brief was as follows:

TVP1000 ASSIGNMENT BRIEF

Programme Analysis
(2-Part assignment, 2500 words total)
2 Weeks � hand in date 17.12.04

Your final assignment on the TVP 1000 module is to carry out a 2-part deconstruction of a TV programme. Choose the programme yourself and include a VHS copy with your assignment. It can be of any genre.

Part 1 of the assignment (1000 words) will analyse the full narrative development of the programme. You should focus on how the story is constructed, taking into account the characters, script and plot development. It will be helpful for you to draw upon your PPR1111 lecture notes in completing this task.

Part 2 of the assignment (1500 words) will be a detailed technical review of a 5 minute section of the same programme. Choose this section of the programme carefully and please identify it clearly in your support materials. You should focus on shot composition, camera style and lighting elements as well as the use of sound. You should also carry out a critical analysis of editing technique and any use of archive and/or graphic elements. Both your TVP1000 and PPR1111 lecture notes will be useful.
