John's Newsround - 30/1/04

The DJXII Blue Midget.Sigh. After all that excitement, let's get on with things.

Go on, leave me plenty of comments. We've got over 4000 to make up for...

Comments

"You poor Australian fans. Red Dwarf VI will be arriving in Region 4 on DVD on April 7th. That's even later than the American release for V and VI of March 15th. How you suffer for your devotion."

You see? Andrew Ellard understands. Not enough to change the release date, though, I'll bet.

"HA HA WE GET OURS ON THE 21ST FEBRUARY AND EVEN AMERICA GETS IT ON 15TH MARCH YOU'RE RUBBISH."

Thank you so much for your sensitivity.

I like the logo

By Drzymala on 30-01-05 @ 09:53

"Cancel your Play orders. They're tax-dodging fascists anyway. Maybe."

You could go the HIGNFY way, and just add Alledgedly to the end :)

By Mr Flibble on 30-01-05 @ 13:09

Just FYI, that logo is something I knocked up quickly for rd.co.uk - it's only temporary until the club deliver their official DJ XII logo.

Sorry about the wait in Region 4. We can't do anything to change it, but believe me I have utter sympathy.

By Andrew on 30-01-05 @ 13:24

Well, they might get the movie made over there, and then get to sneak onto the set and fly over it in helicopters, so it's only fair :)

Thanks Andrew

I never did understand why they gave Blue Midget legs like that.

"I never did understand why they gave Blue Midget legs like that."

Same here. The legged BM was first seen before VIII was even written soit can;t have been purely for *that* dance scene. Maybe they thought having it walk would be funny in some way? God I hate jokes purely based on CGI.

By Cappsy on 30-01-05 @ 17:11

"Maybe they thought having it walk would be funny in some way?"

Not necessarily

By Drzymala on 30-01-05 @ 21:51

They probably just wanted it to look cooler. It's a nice idea, but two things stop it being good:

a) It looks rubbish compared to the old modelwork, and
b) I really like the original idea of Blue Midget - as a car. Putting legs on it dilutes this idea, really - as you're concentrating more on the legs than anything else.

By John Hoare on 30-01-05 @ 22:01

I wish they'd do a similar T-shirt offer for Region 1. It's a bit crap that they haven't...I'm very, very jealous.

By Phil on 31-01-05 @ 03:59

Concenrating on the legs? lol

Not taking the piss John, just made me chuckle :D

By Drzymala on 31-01-05 @ 07:48

Her long, blue, shaply legs.

By John Hoare on 01-02-05 @ 00:04

I just splurged

By Drzymala on 01-02-05 @ 23:39

Too much self-gratification on G&T these days.

By Chris the Dolochimp on 03-02-05 @ 01:28

I remember when G&T used to be about family values.

By Austin Ross on 03-02-05 @ 01:53

It was never about family values :D

By Drzymala on 03-02-05 @ 07:44

Yes it is. It's about love and big domestic arguments.

By Tanya Jones on 03-02-05 @ 08:34

Ian 'Big Love' Symes. He's got it written on all his stationary

By Drzymala on 03-02-05 @ 08:37

"It was never about family values :D"

Yes, it was.

By Austin Ross on 03-02-05 @ 17:43

Links don't work in comments no more. FIX THIS.

By Austin Ross on 03-02-05 @ 17:44

My last light bulb in my room is about to die. FIX THIS.

By Cappsy on 03-02-05 @ 21:13

I have erection problems. FIX THIS.

By Drzymala on 03-02-05 @ 22:16

So does Michael Howard.

By Mr Flibble on 03-02-05 @ 23:30

Is that some sort of reference to him being Jewish?

By Ian Symes on 04-02-05 @ 00:40

No, it was me "accidentally" misreading erection as election to be funny. Haha.

By Mr Flibble on 04-02-05 @ 01:37

Don't try and get out of it, Flibble. We all know it was a reference to a famous literary character who had erection problems and was Jewish. Along with the deep-seated Jewish belief that erection problems are deeply offensive. You are a racist, sir, a racist.

By Ian Symes on 04-02-05 @ 07:39

Flibble should work for the Labour election campaign. Sure his posters would go down a treat and be welcome after he turned Blair's eyes red back in '97.

By Tonka on 06-02-05 @ 18:12

and Norman 'Every other year' Lovett

I spoke to Norman on Friday. He says he's looking forward to DJ.

Last year, Norman wasn't invited to Dimension Jump, thats why he wasn't there. The fan club can only afford so many of the cast.

By Paul Gannon on 08-02-05 @ 13:55

Oh so they actually get paid to go?

By Ranch on 08-02-05 @ 16:24

Yeah, it's their profession. They are there to entertain us. They do have a good laugh and a good time too obviously.

By Paul Gannon on 08-02-05 @ 16:40

I just noticed, John got the date wrong on this. The great feckin eejit.

By Seb on 09-02-05 @ 12:16

They don't enjoy it. They only do it to get paid, and they laugh at you when you're not there.

By Ranch on 09-02-05 @ 23:46
