There we go. Only a couple of pieces to begin with, both of which I think are mostly absolutely terrible (so feel free to take them apart completely); more will be added over time, along with our opinions on the pieces.

Copyright is... well, I was going to say a tricky issue, but in fact it isn't - this is a blatant breach of it. If you're the copyright owner or author of the pieces and you don't want them up here, just get in contact with us and we'll remove them immediately. Let's see how long it is before we have more trouble, eh?

And if you've got anything interesting, scan it and send it in, there's a good boy.

Somebody out there thinks the Pete double-bill are the peak of Red Dwarf series 8, folks.

Excellent addition! Does this mean long sessions in the local library looking through old mags, then?

Just a thought, but could you find the cuttings that were read out on the 'Six of the Best' interview? They give publications names AND dates.

Yes, I'll get some older stuff up there at some point.

Ooh, having just read the pieces, I can't *wait* for your opinion on the Series VIII video review... what's the betting the words "SERIES VII WASN'T FUCKING CUNTING SHOT ON FILM" are used somewhere?

Posted by Seb at June 25, 2004 07:36 PM

Precisely. I was going to do them when I put them up, but I wasn't feeling well enough to have a rant.

I'll do them when I put up a couple more pieces over the weekend. I'll try and find a R@RE Paul McGuinness article from one of the Sunday newspaper magazines I've got somewhere...

Incidentally, sorry if the scans aren't that great quality; I've not done any before, and coupled with the fact that I haven't got much memory on this machine (so I'm struggling against that all the time) they might be a bit dodgy until I get the hang of it better.

One of the articles I've got planned (for possible publication in 2038) is "Red Dwarf Myths": a list of all the things people keep coming out with that are completely wrong.

I started planning it a bit ago actually, but I think I stopped because I needed to check out some of the facts - and never got round to doing so. If there were mistakes in an article about myths...

Posted by John Hoare at June 25, 2004 08:21 PM

Ooh, that'd be excellent, that (the "Myths" thing). One of the best things about this Doctor Who programme guide that I've got is that for each story (well, for a lot of them) it lists popular myths about them. There are enough floating around about the Dwarf that it'd be cool to see a list of 'em.

And series 3 didn't have a higher budget than 2, go on.

That Jeff Watson guy who wrote the Series VIII review pretty much sums up the way I feel about Series VIII - good series with bad ending.

That Dave Golder guy is an idiot, though. "Imagine what it would have been like if Alan Rickman and Alfred Molina had been cast..." yeah, I imagine then I vomit.

Actually I don't vomit. But Craig and Chris are the definitive Lister and Rimmer.
