You're Playing That Dumb Adventure Game!

After the release of the Series III DVD, it's all gone quiet news-wise. So to keep you going (along with reading our continuing series of III DVD articles, more of which soon) here's a nice little addition, inspired by this thread on rec.games.int-fiction. Yes, a text adventure game, or Interactive Fiction if you want to be cool, written by Joseph A. Stanko, and based on IWCD, BTL, and the TV series. It was written in 1996, which means that a lot of you may well know it, and even won it for all I know - but I haven't, so fuck off.

You can download (ZIP format) the game, and read the README file for instructions. To play, simply unzip the file and run REDDWARF.EXE. It's an MS-DOS game, so only PC users can play (although no doubt you can find an emulator if that's not your platform).

Right, now, let's have a play...

Ooh! I was looking for this a few weeks ago, but I couldn't find it! Good old G&T!

Great find, thanks guys!
However, I currently seem to be stuck on Red Dwarf with a dead man and a man evolved from cats, and nothing to do except mooch around, play the guitar and eat Krispies.
Sounds familiar....

There was a walkthrough somewhere, but I can't find it now.

I'm just about to buy a potion off Gandalf the master wizard.

I know where some hints and a walkthrough is; but I wanted to give everyone a chance to play it without the temptation first. I'll post where they are soon, though.

Why didn't you say?

I finished it years ago.

Can we see those hints or that walkthrough please? I have a cat asleep in Starbug's cockpit and a hologram standing in its cargo area. Hollister's quarters are boring, the barmaid won't talk to me and I'm tempted to put the BTL helmet on again!! It'd be less painful.

I've fucking lost it!

I'll have a search later on.
