Winchester Films Boss Resigns

Ananova have reported that the boss of Winchester Films, Gary Smith, has resigned. On March 31st, the company posted pre-tax losses of 11.2 million, compared to losses of 8.3 million previously; although bad losses were predicted. Mr Smith said: "I am now looking forward to pursuing a wider range of interests, both inside and outside the film industry."

What does all this mean for Red Dwarf: The Movie, which Winchester is heavily involved in? Probably nothing, in all honesty - the company has been building up it's feature films business and cut it's activities in the children's TV market, and in June they said they are making a point of focusing on developing films jointly with partners. So, there shouldn't be any need to worry. Still, we'll keep an eye on things...

An anti-climax, there.

An interesting one though. Lets hope Red Dwarf gets thier accounts Back in the Black and not in the Red (get it?)

Good, Cappsy!

It's all completely irrelevant to the Movie, but I felt we had to report on anything major to do with Winchester. I've got an addiction to posting news stories.

The boss leaving could affect the company therefore their projects even a bit. It could become a little blurred as to what their objectives are.

There's loads more but I only got back from seeing The Darkness three hours ago and I'm off to uni now, so I'm knackered.

Why has nobody me told me off for using it's?

It's a fucking outrage.

Oops. I'm failing in my duties.

I usually seethe at that sort of apostrophe abuse, but since it's you Moss, and you are a friend of Symes the Great, I'll let you off.

Hang on - that's allowed, surely?

"It's all completely irrelevant" is correct grammar, surely?

Or is the objection to the use of the word "it's" anyway?

I'M CONFUSED.

"...the company has been building up it's feature films business..."

I believe that was the line he was referring to.

Posted by Joey at October 23, 2003 05:44 PM

And "cut it's activities" too.

I should probably have just corrected the article rather than posted a comment about it, but I just couldn't be arsed. How professional.

Yes. I like the way that John pointed his error out, then never bothered to correct it. I think I'll leave it up too.

I now feel an idiot.

The idiot's not very happy about it, either.

See latest article, Tim. I tried to do a story about the shares a few days ago, but couldn't find enough info to make it worth it.
