Howard Excellent-all
Honestly. You wait... ooh, over three years for a new Howard Goodall interview, and then two turn up at once. Following on from the excellent update to Austin's interview, comes one from Cappsy. And very good it is too. Instead of me picking out the best bits, just read it.
Not to be beaten on the interviews front, G&T should have a couple of good ones for you soon. Diminishing fandom? What's that?

Shame he didn't have agood old rant at Re-mastered. Ah well, you can't have everything!

Not having a go at Austin (especially as it wasn't his fault most of his questions were unanswered), but Cappsy's interview is the best with Goodall I've ever read. The White Hole is getting really great lately.
Also - Cappsy! You got what's quite frankly a ridiculous exclusive! That the 'theme from Red Dwarf' has an official title - 'Fun Fun Fun'! As far as I know that has never been revealed before. Excellent!

Shit a brick, so I have. It must be my tired brain as I didn't spot that.
And cheers for the praise :)

Bah. Well, The White Hole is indeed quite good, and his interview seems much more laid back and relaxed, not quite as formal as the answers Goodall gave me. Still, if he'd actually answered all the questions I had, it would have been much better.

I suspect that, IF IF IF the movie gets made, Howard will not do the score and it will be a situation he described where some of his themes get used (namely the Series I/II opening theme and closing credits song) but it's some young hotshot bastard that they bring in. They need to do the score as cheaply as possible to keep the budget down (IF it gets made expect the budget to have been dropped to around 6 million)

I don't expect they'll be scrimping and scraping on anything for the movie.
They'd better fucking use Howard though - his scores for Bean and Blackadder Back and Forth were phenomenal. And the title theme he composed for Johnny English is the best James Bond parody evarrr.
But then again, the film will never get made so what I'm saying is irrelevant.

I'm confised about all that. At first I thought he had chosen yous over mine. I'm not sure why he ended up answering all mine and only some of yours. Still, he gave you longer answers and I think your interview is equally as interesting. It's just a shame we both sent questions off at about the same time and ended up with them at about the same time.

I'd already sent my questions to him when you mentioned you had an upcoming interview, but I assumed you were interviewing Ellard, or Ross McGinley, or something.

Ellard wont touch my site now, unfortunatly. Ah well, I linked to yours in my update.
Is Howard still sending you more in time? I hope so cos I'll like to see stuff that wasn't covered in my interview.

I've never actually spoken directly to Howard himself, but his assistant thinks it's likely he'll answer a few more questions at some point.

When I asked him for an interview ages ago, his assistant said he was out the country shooting his new TV show. Wah!

Me too but he (she?) said he could do them when he got back. And so he did (almost 6 months later).

It's like Anakin Skywalker all over again.
