New Craig Charles Show

There's a girl loose on the net, with an urgent misson. She's been posting to various places; and she's determined to get her message across. Who are you, love?

My name is Sophie and I work for an Independent Company who supplies free tickets to exclusive audiences for TV shows. At the moment we are booking for a brand new show with the awesome Craig Charles. Please see the info on it or have a look at our website (www.applausestore.com).

I will do! And thanks for telling us, my dear!

If you want to come and be part of the live studio audience for some late night Friday night action or now any other Craig Charles fans please don't hesitate to contact me.

I'm in there. But let's not jump the gun; I may have misinterpreted her...

I look forward to hearing from you!

Fucking hell.

I'VE GOT HER PHONE NUMBER! Didn't I tell you I was an irresistable stud? I wonder if I should pop round during office opening hours... perhaps she wouldn't want me to, though.

Office Opening Hours: Mon-Fri, 10.30-18.00

Crikey.

Weapons of Mass Distraction hosted by Craig Charles

I think I see what he's done there.

Join us at the brand new television studios at The Hospital in the heart of Covent Garden for a celebration of everything we love in life; the tantalising, the trivial, and the brilliant.

Well, it was a good stab at an alliterative tagline; pity they gave up 2/3rds the way though.

WEAPONS needs you to come and enjoy fresh music tracks and comedy, relevant guests and topical comment.
CRAIG CHARLES is the informed host, the cultural commentator, the interested interviewer and the enthusiastic advocate of quality music and comedy.

So, Funky Bunker II, then.

We'll be recording two shows a night, but tickets are extremely limited so apply quickly.

In other words: PLEASE COME OR WE'LL HAVE AN EMPTY STUDIO.

You will see the hottest band in Britain or an American sensation up close and personal in London's most advanced TV recording facility.

I bet it's a cupboard. Where's it going to be recorded, Soph?

THIS GREAT SHOW IS GOING TO BE RECORDED AT THE BRAND NEW TELEVISION STUDIOS IN COVENT GARDEN, LONDON WC2B.

OK, OK, don't shout. Thanks, anyway. But, you know - it'd be lovely to know what the nearest tube was...

Nearest tube:
Covent Garden (2 min walk)
Holborn (7 min walk)

You're a darling. I'll slip you one next time I'm down in London.

Anyone up for going then?

It would be nice to have some dates.

Posted by Joey at April 5, 2004 07:21 PM

I've already got one, by the looks of it.

But I'm sure she'd be able to furnish you with some; she didn't actually say any in any of her messages.

" late night Friday night action "

Sounds like late night Channel Five

Posted by Drzymala at April 5, 2004 08:03 PM

It's in London but I reckon you, me and Symes should make a date Mattias!

Posted by Joey at April 5, 2004 08:24 PM

"Sounds like late night Channel Five"

I was going to place money on Men and Motors...

> It's in London but I reckon you, me and Symes should make a date Mattias!

I'm onto it, dear.

Posted by Ian Symes at April 5, 2004 09:00 PM

Super!

Posted by Drzymala at April 5, 2004 09:04 PM

That is the best G&T news report ever.

Posted by Darrell Jones at April 6, 2004 12:29 AM

Aww yay Ian you 0WnZ.

Posted by Joey at April 6, 2004 05:07 PM

Oh - Big Blake reports that the show is for ITV1 (Or Central, as I still like to call it). So, definitely Funky Bunker II, then.

Posted by John Hoare at April 7, 2004 12:09 AM

At least it's not ITV2.

22nd April for us then chaps and chapess.

Posted by Joey at April 7, 2004 06:27 PM

Yes, the official G&T party will be attending the 22nd April recording. Anyone else going to that one?

Posted by Ian Symes at April 7, 2004 07:24 PM

Starts on Saturday 17th April on ITV1 at 12:05am. So that's Friday night then.

Oh, and a repeat on Sunday morning (or Saturday night) at 1:50am.

And the press blurb is: "Craig Charles and Caroline Flack present the comedy programme celebrating everything the public watches, buys and wears to take their mind off the real world."

Posted by one time poster at April 7, 2004 09:45 PM

No-one will watch it, only Seinfeld and Late Night Poker fans.

Posted by Joey at April 8, 2004 04:58 PM

I'm a Late Night Poker fan!

Posted by Ian Symes at April 8, 2004 08:29 PM

Hello. I've been politely asked by one of the webmasters to contribute something to this thread because someone has mentioned Late Night Poker.

Late Night Poker was ace. And it regularly garnered over a million viewers in it's 1AM slot which Channel 4 liked very much.

Craig Charles was on Celebrity Poker Club and lost.

Will that do?

Posted by Brig Bother at April 9, 2004 12:32 AM

I suppose so.

Posted by Ian Symes at April 9, 2004 12:33 AM

I just said that only people who stay up that late would watch it. I wasn't slagging it off or nuffink.

Posted by Joey at April 9, 2004 12:21 PM

Armando Iannucci says what we're all thinking:

"What use, for example, does Craig Charles serve?"

I don't quite get his point, to be honest. Surely we all know we can't watch everything, so we pick and choose?

Posted by John Hoare at April 13, 2004 02:56 AM

I think that is his point.

Er...I could go into a long marketing thing which is related but after three years even I hate the subject.

Posted by Joey at April 13, 2004 06:40 PM

Well, if that's his point, we know that already. I hardly spend all my time trying watch EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD.

Posted by John Hoare at April 13, 2004 06:42 PM

No-one said it was a point worth making.

Posted by Joey at April 14, 2004 04:12 PM

Now that *is* a good point.

Posted by John Hoare at April 14, 2004 04:22 PM

For those of you who are going to the 22nd recrding, here's what yu've got to look forward to.

"Craig Charles and Caroline Flack explore the new age of pornography and sexual relationships with three British porn stars. Plus music from the Zutons."

Posted by one time poster at April 15, 2004 03:04 PM

That's sure to be good.

Erm, actually, I think I mean that.

Posted by John Hoare at April 15, 2004 03:34 PM

Two shows a night.

I expect todays two recordings will be tomorrow's and next friday's. Then ours will be the two fridays after that.

So y'know, that might not be ours.

Posted by Joey at April 15, 2004 06:04 PM

Porn, eh? Excellent.

Posted by Ian Symes at April 15, 2004 08:28 PM

An anagram of "Weapons of Mass Distraction" is "I piss down on fat ass meat? Cor!"

I think you needed to know that.

Posted by Darrell Jones at April 15, 2004 11:31 PM

That's what I'll be calling it from now on.

Posted by Ian Symes at April 16, 2004 12:09 AM

I'm watching it now, OMG this fucking sucks.
