Fan Commentary Article on White Hole!
The White Hole, eh? Beating us to news, eh? Beating us to LOVELY INSIDER ARTICLES, eh? When the going gets tough, the tough go and have a little cry in the corner. Waaaah.
Anyway, DVD-compo winner Ruth Latchford has written a rather lovely article giving an account of the events of Tuesday 3rd February. As Cappsy says, there are two particuarly interesting things; firstly, Craig Charles was ILL, and so unable to make it to the Series V commentary session. This is a great shame really, in that the cast commentary looks like it will be incomplete; but at least we won't have to listen to any more hilarious jibes at people who's only crime is to love something.
Secondly, she confirms that Mike Tucker recorded a commentary at the same session. I believe the term is "fucking excellent". It's not known exactly what he's commentating on yet; no doubt the details will come out soon, though. From someone. We do happen to know from a little birdie however, that as predicted in Cappsy's V DVD Preview article, Mr. Tucker has passed on a copy of the behind-the-scenes on Series V's effects video...

This may sound odd but I'm SURE when I spoke to Ross in the TOS chat room he actully said they hadn't thought about asking Mike to do a commentary until I mentioned it to him...

I'm perfectly happy about his absence from the commentaries.
I have a theory that the commentaries would be things of relistenable greatness if the participants were Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn and Doug Naylor only.

Agreed. A bit like Steve Moffat and Jack Davenport commentaries for Coupling, they were great.
It's a huge shame that Chris Barrie is so quiet in III and IV. Craig and Danny couldn't possibly shut thier egos up for a bit while someone interesting talks.

It will be nice to have some variety. With Craig gone Chris might pipe up a bit more. I hope so, anyway.

A commentary I mean. I think it's fairly simple to understand, but I know what you're like, Symes. I ask 'When will Doug Naylor do one?' and you'll immediately come back with something like, 'Why, is he constipated?'

Cmoe to think of it Hattie's pretty rubbish too. I;ve spoken to her before and she's lovely but perhaps a bit too dippy and annoying for a commentary?
I agree with Darrells "Chirs, Doug and Robert" line up with the possible additions of Norman and Ed.
Actually I think there could be a lot of mileage in having different combinations of people for different episodes. And also roping other people in such as Agnew, Bye, Tucker, Wragg and even Burdens mincy tones.

Yes, I agree with all that too. But they couldn't really ask some of the cast back to do a commentary and not the others, really; and besides, yet again, some people seem to enjoy Craig and Danny's ramblings. I just wish Chris Barrie would talk more, dammit.
Crew commentaries = good, and it looks like we've got at least one coming up...

We do! I can't wiat to hear Mike taking us through his behind the scenes footage (I thnk it's safe to assuem that's what we're getting).
But we've all heard that at DJ, I want to hear him commentate on an episode.

I'm pretty sure he's going to commentate on an episode; we've heard from someone (not from GNP) that this is probably the case. Can't promise it, though - we'll try to find out more details...
