QI - Second Series?

The BBC FOUR logo. They have nice idents, you know.Dang and blast the BBC. It seems whenever I try and get information out of them, it's wrong. When I e-mailed them about the excellent Stephen-Fry-hosted (and indeed, John-Lloyd-produced, and Howard-Goodall-composed/guested) quiz QI, the BBC told me "There are currently no plans for a further series of...QI". This UPSET ME GREATLY, until Shanine pointed out in the comments that tickets were in fact being advertised. Ahem.

Checking today, it appears that recordings have slipped until March - but definite dates are now given, for the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 8th of March (with more dates planned), at The London Studios - and tickets are avaliable now. But only if you're over 18. Ha! to Ian. Anyway, this is obviously excellent news, and I might try and get down to one of the recordings...

There's probably some amusing BBC corruption gag you can do here, but I'll let someone else do it.

Perhaps by "further series" the BBC were assuming you knew about the second and were talking about a third.

I don't think so. I did ask before the Christmas Special was aired - so it would have been fairly obvious I meant a second series.

QI = good.

Incidentally, is there *anyone* other than me who bothered taping them all? And will they call the second series QII (leading to trouble with Spike Milligan's estate come the fifth series, forcing a rename to 'There's a Lot of QI About!')?

I kept missing the bloody thing. What a fanny I am. I'll make a point of watching the second series, though.

I imagine the BBC, like any company, has lousy internal communication. Damn them! Still, it's good QI's got a second series.

I now have tickets for the 5th. Hooray!

Also: the BBC still smell of my bum.

People I want to see on QI:

Ben Elton
Griff Rhys-Jones
Neil Innes
Clive James
Chris Langham
Tony Robinson

They're the sort who *should* be on it. People like Jimmy Carr and Jackie pissing Clune are useless.

The wonderful Jackie Clune did comedy cabaret on Jammin'(Radio 2)last week and I must have listened to my tape of that programme a dozen times! In particular, her swinging rendition of 'Fat Bottomed Girls' was a chart topper of a song!

I admit that Clune was bearable on Jammin' 5.6, save for that embarrassing Dido parody. But she really isn't QI material.

They've not learned from series 1, and are still bringing in all these Never Mind the Buzzcocks-y nobodies. All they do on these programmes are badly-inserted bits of their standup act, or just sit there quietly - that's not what the programme should have to revolve around.
