Brittas Series Three Review
Just a quickie - I've reviewed The Brittas Empire Series Three DVD, which arrived on my doorstep on Saturday. Hurrah for it. I did hope to do it before the release date, but, hey, I've been busy! The marvellous discs should be ready and waiting for you in your local HMV, but if you can't get them there, I recommend Play, or you can get them from Eureka Video's site. Oh, and I imagine I'll be updating the episode guide this evening.
Crikey, we're doing well with the old site updates, aren't we? I hope you realise, though, that this will inevitably lead to a barren peroid of about three months, in which we do absolutely sod all, other than regularly masturbating over pictures of Chloë Annett. We might publish the results.

Sound fault? Oh man.
They overdid the automatic noise reduction on the first two series, so this sounds like a nasty by-product of such 'restoration'. Advice to anybody at Eureka Video who's reading this - either remaster the sound properly or leave it alone, as otherwise you'll just make it worse.
I shall buy this as soon as I have finished conquering the sixties era of Doctor Who on eBay.

Oh, yeah. Can't wait to get my BRITTAS #3...right after my Multi region player arrives....which should be sometime before I die.

Right, I've now bought, watched and thoroughly enjoyed this.
I listened through headphones and there were no sound problems on 'Two Little Boys'. However, there were tons of horrible audio glitches on 'Sex, Lies and Red Tape', which are so bad I'd seriously suggest the disc should be mastered again and repressed. Eureka probably don't have the budget to support that, but the episode as presented on DVD is almost ruined. It was never on the BBC videos either so I'm afraid I'll have to resort to trying to tape it off Granada Plus next time it's around.

Here's a question: Why the fuck is Rimmer such an arsehole in Status Leak? He already tried having two Rimmers around and he hated it. What a cunt, eh?

Incidentally, my review of Brittas 3 which generally praised the discs but politely expressed reservations about the episode with the fucked-up sound and requested that it would only be fair to repress disc 2, has been removed by Eureka.
Propaganda, there. It's not as though I gave it a low rating (I gave it 4/5) either.
