CAPPSY SMELLS

Bah. Cappsy's Squelchy Hole has finally updated again, with a nice Series V Preview, detailing some hopes for the upcoming November release - and with some frankly excellent McGinley research. And as a way to integrate the article with the the site's Forums, from now on each White Hole article will have a link to a forum thread where you can discuss the update.

Meanwhile, guess what we were going to publish in a few days? Wah. Still, we might as well do it anyway, so watch this space.

With The White Hole up and running again, and promising more updates, and Back In The Red recently updating, all we need now is for the promised 2004 Big Blake update to appear, and The Red Dwarf Zone to get going again. We haven't got time to report on everything; note our spectacular failure to do a report on Craig and Danny's Casualty appearances...

Music doesn't have to be cleared if it was actually in the background when the footage was shot and was included unintentionally. So the stuff with the special effects footage should get away scot-free. It would be great to see it edited with the raw model shots and stuff into a more expanded special effects feature. As the model shots are silent, you could have yer talking heads of Tucker and co, with the visuals cutting to the model shots as the sound of Tucker rabbitting on continues. Incorporate the behind-the-scenes footage and clips from the finished episode, and you've got a bloody fantastic documentary! Splatter a few dabs of Goodall music on the soundtrack to taste, and Bob's your sadly deceased comedian.

Even better, they could also pick a couple of in-studio effects sequences, and show us the rushes of those, with accompanying Tucker chat, and example from the completed episode.

No reason why they couldn't produce a 30-minute piece of tightly-edited loveliness along those lines, is there?

Well it seems like Tucker is going to eb commentating on something. Lets just hope it's something more than just his footage.

i love the title of this topic - even tho the content lets it down a little :)

The Red Dwarf Zone will be back soon. Been having a few problems with my computer at the mo so updating has become almost impossible.

The new site is also nearly finished :-)

Dan!

Hmm...

All these web sites listed and no TOTAL RED DWARF... I see there is a bit of favouritism on here. ;)

Paul, you havn't updated for like a million years. I think the assumption is that it will never be back.

Posted by Cappsy at January 30, 2004 10:31 AM

ok, ok, shame on me. It has been updated.

Posted by Cappsy at January 30, 2004 10:32 AM

I was just going to say... it has been updated. Then I read your second post :)

But that tells me that you don't visit it very often, and your not one of the 4,831 people who've already been on my site this year.

Well that's beacsue you have a large back catalogue of stuff. i've not been recently 'cos I thought you'd jacked it in.

Posted by Cappsy at January 30, 2004 12:45 PM

Yeah, true I'd not done much, if any work on it last eyar, but I decided to start updating it again.

I hope to have some new content on there soonish, well when i get chance to work on it.

Excellent news, Paul.

Incidentally, there's no favouritism in the article - we didn't mention Groovetown either. It's just which sites came to mind, to be honest.

Posted by John Hoare at January 30, 2004 04:20 PM

I was only joking about favouritism :) I realise that you can't rattle off all red dwarf sites on the net, you'd be here all day... well 10 minutes at least.

Keep up the great reporting at G&T. I visit daily :)

Posted by Paul (TRD) at January 30, 2004 06:32 PM

What, you only come here once a day?

Posted by Ian Symes at January 30, 2004 08:44 PM

Once a day? Tsk.

Posted by Cappsy at January 30, 2004 09:18 PM

LOL

I meant 'lots of times daily' :)
